Bookmark Mumbai’s Luxury Lifestyle Weekend
There are HNIs (high net worth individuals) and then there are the HENRYS (high earning, not rich yet) class of buyers in India that are shaping how brands design and cater their services to them. With an $18 billion potential, the country’s luxury market is growing rapidly to meet the ever evolving needs of these consumers. The Luxury Lifestyle Weekend (LLW) is a first-of-its-kind event that aims to connect these affluent buyers directly with the brands under one roof. Hence, this dynamic platform will bring on board top names in fashion, lifestyle, automobile and watches among others.
When & Where
The LLW 2018 will be held at the Reliance JioGarden in Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai from March 9 to 11th. Over a 100 luxury brands will be participating at this three-day event.
Why Should You Go?
The event has been curated as more than just a luxury show. You will get to enjoy immersive and interactive experiences through unique pop-ups of fine dining restaurants, art exhibitions and fashion shows. Many international brands that you love but can’t find in India will be in attendance. Imagine not only flaunting your John Lobb boots but also be able to meet the shoemaker. Now that’s an interaction we would love to have!
The luxury weekend event is expected to be more than just an exhibition or an expo. Brands will be adding their personal touches to ensure select viewers are able to engage at an experiential platform with them. Luxury watch brand, Panerai will be bringing its watchmaker from Italy to give visitors a watch masterclass. One and Only Resorts will be giving spa sessions. Auction house Christie’s is set to hold a silent auction for Patek Philippe watches. Even Rolls Royce is getting a special car from its UK plant to bridge the gap between the brand and the consumers. You will also get exclusive previews of several products that are yet to be launched in India.
What To expect
Last November, a soft launch of the event took place at a glittering event at Sofitel, Mumbai. And if that’s anything to go by, you can set big expectations from the main event in March. Brands across 10 categories like hospitality, fashion, jewellery, watches, automobiles and beauty have announced their participation. Coveted luxury majors Franck Muller, Bentley, Jo Malone, Audi, Isaia, Kiton, Ferrari, Bovet, Estée Lauder, Hublot, along with high-end real estate brands Lincoln Square and Trump Towers will be in attendance.
There are a lot of options for gourmands too. More than 15 F&B outlets will be whipping up delectable food. And if you are lucky enough to get hold of passes for the invitation-only private luncheons, then you can indulge in fine dining catered by The Table.
Plan Your Weekend
The three-day show will keep you pretty busy and entertained. Here are a few key events that you should bookmark.
Day 1 – The French Opening Night
We have our eyes set on the opening night gala. A Parisian-style soiree is in store that will see signature cocktails and unlimited hors d’oeuvres going around as a DJ and a live international band set the tone for an unforgettable evening.
Day 2 – Watch It
This will be a day exclusively meant for keen horologists. Christie’s will be putting up its vintage collections of Rolex and Patek Philippe. The cherry on the cake will be the chance to interact with Remy Julia—a renowned watch expert—being flown for the show. If you like bespoke pieces (who doesn’t!) then you can attend Panerai’s watchmaking masterclass.
Fashion enthusiasts can head to Couturiers Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla and Shantanu & Nikhil sneak peek where they show latest sartorial trends apart from other national and international designers.
Day 3 – A Weekend-Worthy Brunch
If you enjoy boozy brunches then this one is for you. Attend a wine tasting followed by masterclasses by liquor brands. Leading chefs will put up pop-up restaurants with special menus so that you can spend the entire afternoon savouring delicious food. The evening promises jazz performances along with Sundowners—just what anyone needs to end the weekend on a high!
Many famous pastry and culinary chefs will be participating at the LLW. Here are a few:
Yohan Dattoobhai: Go back to your childhood with handmade ice creams. The scoopful of happiness can be found at Yohan’s Sucres Des Terres pop-up stall.
Jason Hudanish: A contemporary style Mexican cuisine awaits you at Jason’s take on his Xico restaurant menu. Agave spirits and cocktails will be free flowing here as you dive into his sweet, spicy, and sour creations.
Sanjana Patel: One of India’s best-known pastry chefs and chocolatiers, Sanjana Patel will help you make the most of your cheat day diet.
