Orbital and spherical rings, star-shaped earrings – Minawala’s Space Odyssey collection is both classy and futuristic
Wear The Cosmos
A mix of traditional and contemporary, the latest offering from Minawala is steeped in fusion and design foresight. “I always wanted to bring something fresh and new for my customers and this mix of Indian and international taste gives me the best way to do that,” says Minawala owner, Shehzad Zaveri.
Space Odyssey is essentially space-inspired jewellery that captures the sights and sounds of the universe. It depicts an artist’s journey to the final frontier of the space and back in vivid colours. You will see a lot of orbital rings, crescent shapes, spherical lobes depicting planets and star shaped earrings in the collection. “Each orbit evokes a different feeling which we have painted in different colour stones,” adds Zaveri.
The stunning jewellery has been set in 18k gold and studded with diamonds and precious stones like rubies, citrine, black onyx, sapphires, crystals and pearl.
Humble Beginnings to Jewellery Giant
Shehzad Zaveri - the man behind the flourishing jewellery brand began his journey from a small makeshift shop in 1982, from where he launched his first collection, ‘flowers in fire’. With just two artisans, he says it was the ‘wealth of vision, not resources’ that drove the success of his brand.
With continued patronage from clients, Zaveri managed to open his first boutique at the iconic Heera Panna market in Mumbai in 1993. There has been no looking back for the jeweller since then. With two stores in Mumbai and one in Bangalore, the Maison is known to create pieces that are always in vogue. His jewels are frequently worn on the red carpet by Bollywood beauties like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anushka Sharma, Kajol and many others.
Apart from working with precious stones and diamond, a feat that it has mastered, Minawala will soon be bringing out pieces made in platinum that will remain true to its signature style.
